I got this mug from my former employer:
Mugs like this were handed out after the completion of a very lengthy project. I was a part of this project for over a year, but there were others who worked on it for even longer. Basically this mug says, "we recognize that you contributed to this project, but your job title doesn't allow for you to receive a plaque like the other members of your team." Truth be told I would rather have a mug than a plaque, because a mug at least serves some utilitarian purpose. However, this mug isn't very comfortable to drink from (it's square) and I have several other mugs, so I am getting rid of it.
