A long time coming

This one was hard to give away. About five years ago I was working for a guy who rented out properties, ranging from small houses to commercial buildings. As with most people who play the renting game, he had amassed a fair collection of junk from evictions and abandoned items of former tenants. One such item was this bicycle, which I spied collecting dust in his garage:

It's a 1960 Schwinn Tiger, and it's in worse shape than it looks based on the picture. I loved the classic look of the bike, and my employer gave it to me for free. I've held on to it through the years, always with the intention that someday I was going to fix it up and make it rideable. Now I've finally decided to let the bike go to someone else who is actually going to do something with it.

I gave the bike to a nice guy from Salt Lake City who seemed very knowledgeable about bikes of the era. He promised to send me an update when he was finished fixing it, and I can't wait to see how it goes. It really is a beautiful bike.
